All of our staff work in the industry and bring with them a vast wealth of knowledge in special effects, stage production, lighting, audio, animatronics, staging, and lasers.

Andy Nicholls

Andy started in the fireworks business at the age of 16 and 3 years later he was shooting fireworks for a leading U.S. based fireworks manufacturer. After graduating college with a degree in Business Management and Technical Theater, Andy moved to Orlando and worked for Disney, corporate meeting planners, and in motion pictures. Andy is the founder and owner of Orlando Special Effects. Some of his work includes the films Ace Ventura and Days of Thunder. Just a few years ago his snow effects work was the feature in a Budweiser commercial airing at halftime of the Superbowl.

Kevin Morrissey

From the time he was in the sixth grade, Kevin knew he was going to be involved in the field of entertainment. He holds a B.A. in Performing Arts with a minor in Film. For over thirty years he has worked in the film and live show effects world,designing,creating,and running effects for brands such as Universal, Disney,Nike, McDonald’s, Coke, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kevin’s work includes the films Monster and Spring Breakers. He has also worked on the television productions Graceland, and Claws. Kevin recently was part of a team that won an Addy for their work on a Disney commercial.

Orlando Roman

We met Orlando three years ago when he attended our Special Effects Seminar. Although he was a student, he is no stranger to the world of entertainment. He brings with him over twenty years of experience in concerts and special events productions as lead pyrotechnician, laser designer, cinematographer, visual effects designer, and sound engineer. He has worked with David Guetta, the New York Mets and Jets, The Motley Crue/Alice Cooper tour, and numerous pyro shows throughout the northeast.

Nicolas Laurin

Nicolas comes to us from Canada where he is a specialist in rigging and flying. He is well versed in all forms of special effects both for live productions and film work. He worked for several years with the Cirque du Soleil and has won numerous awards and competitions for his work on fireworks displays. His special effects credits include , X Men, Days of Future Past, Helix 1and 2, and The Walk.
